Lloyd Family Racing introduces new teammate, kicks off 2026 season
The 2026 season officially kicked off this past weekend for the Kansas-based Lloyd Family Racing team, which also welcomed a new addition to its lineup.
Six-year-old Magnolia Lloyd, younger sister to Abel, made her racing debut in the Red Rookie Class, while her older brother stepped into a busy role, competing in both the Honda 120 and Light 160 divisions in the Senior Quarter Midget ranks.
The sibling duo debuted at Topeka Quarter Midget Association, showing strong speed and steady improvement throughout the night.
Abel delivered a consistent performance across both divisions, racing to the front early in each outing. In the Honda 120 class, he led laps in both the heat and feature before recording second- and third-place finishes. Making his first start in the Honda 160 division, Abel again showed early speed but battled handling challenges and adversity in the feature, including a spin and a flip. He rebounded to finish third in both the heat and feature, capping off a solid start to the season with plenty of promise moving forward.
Magnolia also turned in an encouraging debut. Starting third, she quickly advanced to second to record her first on-track pass before a late-race spin dropped her back to third at the finish. Despite the setback, she remained composed, highlighting an impressive first outing.
